Canadian defenseman Chris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins made history in an NHL game against the New York Islanders.

In the second period of the match, the 36-year-old hockey player managed to contribute to five goal-scoring attacks. From his assists, Jake Guentzel and Evgeni Malkin scored twice each, and Radim Zohorna scored another goal.

This made Letang the first defenseman in NHL history to accumulate 5 points in a single period. In the third period, Letang provided another assist to Valtteri Puustinen, and the Penguins won 7:0.

It is remarkable that such achievements come from the 36-year-old Canadian after two strokes, in 2014 and 2022.

After 33 games, Pittsburgh occupies the 11th place in the Eastern Conference, with a total of 36 points.
