The legendary South African tactician is on the verge of making his comeback to the coaching scene.
Details: Pitso Mosimane has been out of work since early 2025, after failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension with Iranian club Esteghlal, which he had managed since October 2024. Since then, the 60-year-old coach has experienced a period of relative calm in his career.
However, according to the portal Soccer Laduma, Mosimane is now in line for a swift return to management.
One of the most likely destinations for his next chapter is Egypt’s Zamalek. The White Knights finished last season under interim head coach Ayman El-Ramady, who was never confirmed as the permanent boss.
Among the names being considered for the job, Mosimane reportedly tops the list. And it’s no surprise: the 60-year-old previously enjoyed tremendous success with Zamalek’s arch-rivals Al Ahly, capturing a host of trophies in just two years, including back-to-back CAF Champions League titles.
There are also reports that former Egypt Olympic team coach Rogério Micale is a contender for the role.
Reminder: Zamalek head coach Peseiro left the club after just three months in charge
