In the 30th round of the EPL, Liverpool narrowly defeated Everton (1-0), but a controversial incident occurred during the game.

Details: It was previously reported that Everton defender James Tarkowski made a rough challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, crashing into his leg. The referee showed him only a yellow card, and after reviewing the VAR, did not change the decision despite the severity of the tackle.

According to Sky Sports, PGMOL admitted the referees' error, noting that Tarkowski should have been given a straight red card.

Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) is the body responsible for officiating games in the English professional football association.

Notably, Luis Diaz assisted Diogo Jota and created six scoring chances in this encounter, matching a Liverpool record in games against Everton. Mohamed Salah achieved a similar feat in December 2017.

As a reminder, Liverpool leads the EPL standings, having accumulated 73 points after 30 rounds, 12 points ahead of Arsenal with eight rounds remaining in the championship.
