According to the Spanish manager, the incident occurred at the very end of a training session two days ago. Haaland felt discomfort, which was later diagnosed as a minor injury. Guardiola stressed that the club has decided to take a conservative approach and not rush the player back, aiming to avoid the risk of a more serious injury ahead of the decisive matches of the season.
"Two days ago, in the final moments of training, he had some issues, a minor injury. It's not a big problem, but he's not ready for today," Pep said in his pre-match interview.
As a result, the coaching staff has decided to give their top scorer time for a full recovery, entrusting the attacking duties to other players.
It is worth noting that the Leeds vs Manchester City match is scheduled to kick off at 18:30 Central European Time.
