Manchester City could be facing the departure of their head coach.

Details: According to the reputable source The Times, Manchester City's 54-year-old Spanish manager Pep Guardiola may leave the club at the end of this season.

It's reported that Pep has already informed the club's hierarchy of his intention to take a significant break from coaching and step away from football. Last year, Pep extended his contract with the Citizens until 2027, but if he feels at the season's end that he no longer has the energy to lead the team, he may be forced to terminate the agreement.

This potential departure also carries symbolic weight, as the summer of 2026 will mark 10 years since Guardiola first took charge of Manchester City.

If Pep does decide to leave, City’s management has already compiled a list of potential successors, including Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta and former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany, who is currently at the helm of Bayern Munich.

Guardiola took over Manchester City in July 2016. To date, he has overseen 550 matches in charge of City, recording 395 wins, 69 draws, and 89 defeats.
