Pep Guardiola comments on Chelsea manager’s dismissal
Chelsea have parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior following the defeat to Brighton, and even Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked for his reaction.
Details: After his side’s latest match, Guardiola was questioned about Chelsea’s decision to sack Liam Rosenior, and the Spaniard said he was very sorry to see it happen.
Quote: “I’m very sorry. I’m convinced he is a coach of the required level for that level. When this happens, I always think about how lucky I am, once again, to be at the club where I am,” Guardiola said.
We reported earlier that, given the manager signed a long-term contract in January 2026 running until 2032, terminating the agreement early would carry significant financial obligations. Chelsea were set to pay Rosenior compensation worth £24 million.
Reminder: We reported earlier that the Blues hierarchy had no intention of waiting and had already begun preliminary talks with candidates capable of pulling the team out of a deep crisis on the pitch.
