Pau Cubarsi returns to Barcelona due to injury

The Spanish national team drew in the first match of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals against the Netherlands (2-2), but it wasn't without some unfortunate news.

Details: At the end of the first half, Spain and Barcelona's central defender Pau Cubarsi suffered an injury and was substituted. It turned out he twisted his ankle, which will see him leave the national team camp and return to his club. Lazio's defender Mario Gila has been called up to the Spanish squad in his place.

The return leg between Spain and the Netherlands will take place on Sunday, March 23, at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia. Kick-off is at 20:45 CET.

Reminder: Italian national team defender Riccardo Calafiori also urgently left the national team camp and returned to Arsenal. He is suspected of having a first or second-degree knee injury.
