Vanoli has been unable to turn the team's fortunes around.
Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina's management is seriously considering dismissing 53-year-old head coach Paolo Vanoli due to the team's poor results.
After the defeat to Verona in the last Serie A round, Fiorentina's management banned all players and coaching staff from speaking to the media, and the entire team was confined to the club's training base so that the club's leadership could hold talks with the players.
The upcoming match against Udinese could prove decisive for Vanoli. If the "Viola" fail to secure a positive result, Vanoli will have to say goodbye to his position as head coach.
Vanoli took charge of Fiorentina in November this year, replacing Stefano Pioli. However, in his seven matches at the helm, Vanoli has managed to win only once, prompting the club hierarchy to consider his dismissal.
It is also reported that if Vanoli is sacked, Giuseppe Iachini—well-acquainted with Fiorentina—will take over as head coach.
Currently, Fiorentina sits at the bottom of Serie A with only 6 points after 15 rounds. The team has yet to taste victory this Serie A season.
