“Our ambition is not over,” says Mohamed Ouahbi following Morocco’s elimination from the 2026 World Cup
The Atlas Lions’ manager acknowledges the disappointment felt by Moroccan supporters following their exit from the tournament but insists that this does not undermine the ambitions of Moroccan football.
Morocco’s 2026 World Cup campaign came to an end in the quarter-finals following a 2–0 defeat to France. In the wake of this elimination, the Atlas Lions’ manager, Mohamed Ouahbi, spoke out in a message posted on Instagram.
Aware of the disappointment caused by this elimination, the Moroccan manager apologised to the supporters, acknowledging that his team had not been able to deliver the performance they had hoped for. However, Mohamed Ouahbi emphasised that this disappointment does not undermine the ambitions of Moroccan football.
“Our journey came to an end yesterday, but our ambition remains. We apologise for not being able to put on the match you deserved.”
