Angolan born midfielder Gilberto has left Orlando Pirates by mutual consent.

Gilberto's contract at Pirates had a season left before it could expire.

The midfielder has been on loan at his native club Petro de Luanda for the past season having joined Pirates from them two years ago.

But the players stay at Pirates has not been the best one as he has been rumoured to be having an unstable life outside football.

He is said to be a ‘party animal’ which affected his stay in South Africa when he could not command a regular place in the Pirates line up.

This season's loan spell was meant to see him revive his career but it was not to be and now Pirates has decided to let him go.
