Orlando Pirates officially appoint new head coach

Jose Riveiro spent several successful years at the helm of Orlando Pirates, but left the club at the end of this season. Now, the Pirates have made their decision on a new head coach.
Details: Orlando Pirates have announced that Abdeslam Ouaddou has been appointed as the team's new head coach.
Abdeslam Ouaddou is a former Moroccan professional footballer who played as a centre-back or defensive midfielder. He retired from playing in 2013.
His last job was with Marumo Gallants. He took charge of the club in March 2025 and started with a 2–0 victory over Orlando Pirates.
Under Waddu's leadership, Marumo Gallants played 12 matches: five wins, four draws and three losses. He also led the team to the semi-finals of the South African Cup, where they narrowly lost to the Pirates 0-1.
As a reminder: Orlando Pirates have announced a busy pre-season programme, which will see the club tour Spain and play four friendly matches. The team will stay in Europe for almost two weeks, from 8 to 20 July 2025.
