Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Lebitso on the starting berth: We must support each other as team-mates no matter who is playing or not
Thabiso Lebitso is calling for unity among his Orlando Pirates team-mates as they challenge for the Betway Premiership title.
The right-back, who has been struggling for game time owing to injury, said they are all about supporting who is playing on the day.
Lebitso’s Sea Robbers are atop of the Betway Premiership standings with 51 points and are looking at derailing defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, from winning their ninth title on the trot.
Pirates are on top with 51 points which is a single point above second placed Sundowns with a game more than the Brazilians.
“Playing for Pirates it’s important to support the next one, so as you’re saying, I started the league, it was my path at the time – and obviously when we want to win the league, we need to work together, so whoever plays, whoever is selected, we support them, it’s important,” said Lebitso.
“I’s not about who can take your position, playing for Pirates, it’s about working together, we want to win trophies, we want the league and we need everyone, it’s not about who plays and who doesn’t play – so whenever you get a chance, play wholeheartedly, if you don’t you wait for your chance.”
