Orlando Pirates coach does not know about Mbekezeli Mbokazi's imminent departure to Chicago Fire in USA

Abdeslam Ouaddou is not aware of the imminent departure of defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi from Orlando Pirates.

The Pirates coach was speaking after his side’s victory against Chippa United at Orlando Stadium last night in a Betway Premiership match.

“What I can tell you, I’m not aware about this news,” the coach said.

“For me, Mbokazi is still in my group. Today, like I just rotate the players. He’s one of the most important players in my group.

“For me, he’s still with me and that’s it. He’s still my player.”

Mbokazi’s departure to Chicago Fire in the MLS is in the offing as the player was said to be in USA last weekend to finalise the deal reportedly worth R50-million.

While Ouaddou remains in the dark about Mbokazi, an official statement from the club is being prepared.
