Orbit College still looking for a venue for their clash against Orlando Pirates
Orbit College are yet to find a suitable venue for their last Betway Premiership game against Orlando Pirates.
The team's venue, Olympia Park, is deemed unsafe for a game of Pirates magnitude and this has forced the them to seek suitable stadiums outside North West.
Last month they faced a similar challenge for their match against Kaizer Chiefs which was played in Port Elizabeth following the unavailability of Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
Today they released a statement pertaining to their fixture against Orlando Pirates to be played on May 23.
This game is a significant one as it could see Pirates crowned Betway Premiership champions as they are in the title race with defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Orbit College FC wishes to inform its supporters, stakeholders, members of the media, and the football community that the Betway Premiership fixture against Orlando Pirates scheduled for Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 15h00 will no longer be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium,” said an Orbit statement today.
“This follows confirmation from the stadium management that the facility will remain unavailable until 30 June 2026. The club is currently in the process of securing an alternative compliant venue capable of hosting a fixture of this magnitude. A final confirmation regarding the venue will be communicated by Friday, 15 May 2026.
“Orbit College FC apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience, understanding, and continued support from all stakeholders during this process.”
