"Only vengeance." Warren revealed Fury's main motivation for the rematch against Usyk
Promoter of former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, Frank Warren, revealed the motivation of the "Gypsy King" for the rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.
"The rematch will definitely happen, everything is already in place for it. Tyson has already won all those belts that will be at stake. For him, the main focus in the second fight will be solely on vengeance," Warren said to Seconds Out.
Usyk, after his victory over Fury in May, became the undisputed heavyweight world champion, claiming the WBC belt from the Briton. The second bout between the two boxers is scheduled for December.
According to ESPN, the Usyk-Fury fight generated over $50 million in revenue from pay-per-view broadcasts with over 1.5 million PPV purchases, the majority of which came from the UK, where Fury is a megastar.
Turki Al al-Sheikh, the head of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, announced the date of the rematch between the fighters on his X page. The bout is set to take place in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh on December 21st.
