Only one win in eight games! Golden Arrows part ways with Pitso Dladla after disastrous start
The axe has finally fallen at Golden Arrows! Pitso Dladla has parted ways with the South African club following a disastrous start to the Betway Premiership season, bringing his short spell in charge to an abrupt end.
Details: According to FARPost, Dladla and Golden Arrows have officially parted company. The development follows days of growing speculation about the coach's future after his team managed just one victory in their opening eight league matches. The club had reportedly become increasingly frustrated with poor results and the lack of attacking efficiency. The 46-year-old's departure ends an appointment that began only in June 2026.
Dladla arrived at Golden Arrows with an impressive reputation after guiding Durban City to the Nedbank Cup trophy in May. His success generated considerable optimism, but the team struggled to reproduce that winning mentality in league competition.
The disappointing run included five draws, two defeats and only one victory in the opening eight matches. Dladla had repeatedly acknowledged problems with finishing, while insisting that his players could turn the situation around. Those hopes ultimately proved insufficient to protect his position.
Attention will now turn to his replacement. Former Golden Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi had previously been identified as a leading candidate for the job. The club have not confirmed a successor, leaving supporters waiting for another major decision.
It's worth noting that Dladla replaced Manqoba Mngqithi in June 2026. His departure comes less than four months after his appointment, highlighting the growing pressure on coaches in South African football.
Reminder: Golden Arrows head coach under threat after a disastrous run of results.
