In yesterday's Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final, Egypt faced off against Ivory Coast. In a tense battle, the Egyptians advanced, and Mohamed Salah broke his personal scoring record.

Details: In the high-stakes AFCON quarter-final, Egypt managed to overcome Ivory Coast: by the 32nd minute, the Pharaohs were up 2-0 thanks to goals from Marmoush and Rabia, though they conceded an unfortunate own goal in the 41st minute when Fathallah put the ball into his own net.

But in the 52nd minute, Egyptian legend and superstar Mohamed Salah restored the two-goal lead. In the 73rd minute, defender Hela Doué set the final score at 3-2.

This match was historic for Salah: with an assist and a goal, the 33-year-old now boasts five goal contributions in the tournament—his personal best.

Next up for Egypt is a clash with Senegal, scheduled for January 14 at 17:00 GMT.
