Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson provided an assist to Erling Haaland in the 4th round of the Premier League against Brentford (2-1). The Brazilian shot-stopper has come close to equalling the record for goalkeepers in the tournament’s history.

Details: This was Ederson’s fourth assist in the English Premier League, making him one of the top assist providers among goalkeepers. Only former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has more assists among goalkeepers in Premier League history—five. Pepe Reina and David Seaman also have four assists each. Interestingly, Ederson has surpassed his Brazilian national team counterpart and Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson, who has three assists to his name.

Recall: In 2018, Ederson made an assist in a match against Huddersfield, becoming the first goalkeeper in his club’s history to achieve such a feat in Premier League matches. Now, six years later, the Brazilian is on the brink of matching Paul Robinson’s record.
