In today's FA Cup semifinal match, Manchester United only managed to defeat Coventry City in a penalty shootout. The regular time ended in a 3-3 draw, and fortune smiled on the Red Devils in the lottery of penalties.

During the penalty shootout, there was an extraordinary incident. Manchester United's goalkeeper, Andre Onana, attempted to knock the ball out of the hands of Ben Sheaf, who was about to take the shot, for which he received a yellow card from the referee. Interestingly, at the 85th minute of the match, the Cameroonian was already cautioned for time-wasting but was not sent off the field. The reason being that the card received during the penalty shootout does not count towards the one received during regular play, so it did not result in a sending-off.

A similar situation occurred earlier with the Aston Villa goalkeeper in the Europa League quarterfinal match against Lille. Unlike Emiliano MartĂnez, who will face suspension, Onana will be able to play in the final match against Man City. According to the FA Cup regulations, all accumulated yellow cards are canceled from the quarterfinal stage onwards.
