Onana has moved to a club that will play in the Champions League 2024/25
Aston Villa has found a replacement for their key central midfielder Douglas Luiz, who transferred to Juventus this summer.
Today, the Birmingham club officially announced the signing of Belgian international midfielder Amadou Onana from Everton.
Aston Villa paid £50 million plus bonuses for Onana's transfer. The Belgian footballer signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2029.
Previously, there were reports of interest in Onana from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United.

In two seasons at Everton, this 22-year-old central midfielder played 63 Premier League matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. Before joining Everton, he played for Lille, Hamburg, and Hoffenheim's youth team.
It is worth noting that Aston Villa sensationally finished fourth last season and qualified for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.
