It looks like Italy will have to start searching for other candidates.

Details: Negotiations between Pep Guardiola and the Italian Football Federation are unlikely to end in an agreement. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish coach is not planning to accept the offer to take charge of the national team.

The main stumbling block is the financial aspect. Reports indicate that Guardiola expects to earn €20 million per year—about double what the Italian federation is prepared to offer.

Additionally, the coach wants to dedicate more time to his family, so taking the helm of the national side is not among his current priorities.

If a deal with Guardiola falls through, Italy will continue its search for a new head coach. The leading candidates are said to include Antonio Conte, Andrea Pirlo, and Roberto Mancini.
