Slovak slalom star Petra Vlhová (29) announced on her Instagram page that her five-year relationship with Michael Kislica has come to an end. This news comes despite the couple sharing vacation photos from Italy just a few months ago.

In an emotional social media post, the athlete opened up to her fans about the difficult decision. Vlhová emphasized her desire for the media to respect her privacy and clarified that no third party was involved in their breakup.

“We haven't been a couple for several weeks now. It was an incredibly hard decision for both of us. We still communicate, but only as best friends who have been through so much together.”

Very little is known about her ex-boyfriend. According to Bild, Kislica works as a fitness trainer and marketing manager.

Vlhová, on the other hand, remains highly successful in her sport. She claimed the gold medal in slalom at the 2022 Winter Olympics, won the World Championship in 2019, and secured the 2020/21 World Cup title.

Earlier this year, Vlhová suffered a torn ACL in her right knee. Recovery from this serious injury is still ongoing. The athlete has been preparing on the other side of the world — training in Ushuaia, a city in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. It remains uncertain whether she will be ready for the start of the new season, which kicks off on November 16.
