Officially: Johannes Bø announces retirement

The incredible 13-year career of Norwegian biathlete Johannes Bø is coming to an end. The 31-year-old athlete announced his retirement via his social media channels.

Details: In his public statement, Bø emphasized that he had planned to retire after the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, but the preparation for the Games requires a significant amount of time, which he has decided to devote to his family. He will run the last races of his career at the final World Cup event of the current season in Holmenkollen, Norway, on 20-23 March.

Quote: "For 13 years, I have been part of the best national team in the world, supported by the best sponsors in the world. For the last six seasons, I’ve balanced elite-level sport with family life. It has been fantastic but also challenging. Now I feel it’s time to prioritize my family."
