On Wednesday, January 15, another stage of the World Cup took place in Ruhpolding. This race turned into a complete disaster for Johannes Bø.

Details: The Norwegian biathlete finished seven minutes and 48 seconds behind the race winner. He missed five targets at the shooting range, ultimately crossing the finish line in 85th place. This marks the worst result of his career. Previously, Bø’s poorest finish was 68th place in a sprint at the World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk back in 2015.

Notably, Johannes Bø is currently leading the overall standings of the 2024/25 World Cup. Over his illustrious career, the Norwegian biathlete has claimed five Olympic gold medals (three in individual races), 20 World Championship titles (10 in individual races), and has won the overall World Cup five times.

In related news: The Italian Winter Sports Federation announced that Lisa Vittozzi will miss the entire current biathlon season. After resuming training, the 29-year-old biathlete began experiencing discomfort, prompting her to prioritize a full recovery ahead of the next season.
