Officially: FIFA announces the suspension of Congolese clubs and national teams!

FIFA's recent decision was a strong shock to all followers of African football. FIFA announced the suspension of all Congolese clubs from participating in continental and African tournaments, and all its teams were banned from officially participating from all tournaments. FIFA explained that this decision came after the intervention of the Congolese minister of Sports, Mr. Hugues Nguilondele, who liked the executive committee of the Congolese football federation, which is a clear violation in the list of laws that stipulate the sovereignty of national federations in accordance with the regulations of FIFA.

Based on Article 16 of the FIFA Statutes, the Congolese football federation announced its receipt of the suspension notice yesterday, Thursday, February 6, from which the clubs and national teams that involve under the Congolese Federation will be banned from participating in any sporting event from Thursday, February 6 until further notice. This decision threatens the future of the Congolese national team in its career as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where it is expected to face Tanzania and Zambia, scheduled in March.
