Officially. Carlos Alcaraz to miss home Masters event

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz recently announced that he will miss the tournament in Barcelona, but that is not the only event set to go ahead without him.

Details: The world No. 2 has confirmed that he will also miss his home Masters tournament in Madrid. He is dealing with an injury that will prevent him from competing.

Quote: “There is news that is very difficult to share. Madrid is my home, one of the most special stops on my calendar, and that is why it hurts me so much that I will not be able to play here for the second year in a row.

It is especially painful that I will not be able to step onto the court in front of my fans at a tournament that means so much to me. Thank you for your unwavering support, and I hope we will see each other again soon,” Alcaraz wrote on social media.

In 2025, Alcaraz also missed the Madrid Masters due to injury, after suffering the setback in the final of the ATP tournament in Barcelona.

Reminder: The final of the Monte Carlo Masters recently took place, featuring Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. That match determined both the champion and the world No. 1 ranking in the ATP standings.
