Former Arsenal and Barcelona defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst has built up considerable coaching experience after retiring as a player, boasting six and a half years at the helm as a head coach. Still, he’s open to taking on an assistant’s role.
Details: The 50-year-old Dutchman has joined Arne Slot’s staff as an assistant coach at Liverpool, as officially announced by the club’s press service. The terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, but it is reported that Van Bronckhorst still needs to secure a work visa for the UK.

Reminder: Van Bronckhorst managed Feyenoord from 2015 to 2019, leading them to an Eredivisie title and a Dutch Cup triumph. He also guided Scottish side Rangers to the Europa League final in the 2021/22 season, though his most recent managerial stint proved brief.
After taking charge of Besiktas at the start of last season, the Dutchman was dismissed by the end of November.
