Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is making his way back to Europe. Two decades on, the football star is once again set to wear Porto’s colors. The club made the announcement on its official channels.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, both parties have shaken hands and agreed to a short-term contract running through the end of the season. The deal includes an option to extend for another year.
It’s worth recalling that Porto was Thiago Silva’s first European club. In the 2004/05 season, the then 20-year-old Brazilian couldn’t break into the Dragons’ first team, managing just 14 appearances for the reserves. Silva’s previous club was Brazil’s Fluminense.
