The Japanese international never managed to cement his place at Arsenal.

Details: Today, Arsenal’s official page on social network X announced the departure of 26-year-old right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu from the club, effective immediately.

Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in 2021, transferring from Bologna for €19 million. Over four years, he struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, making only 84 appearances, scoring 2 goals, and providing 6 assists.

Currently, it is known that Tomiyasu is dealing with a knee injury, which he plans to treat this summer. Reports indicate he will only be able to return to full training in October, casting doubt on his immediate prospects at the top level.

Tomiyasu has 42 caps for the Japan national team. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €18 million.

Reminder: Arsenal is closing in on a long-awaited transfer. Tottenham played a key role in making it possible
