Official: Ryan Mendes signs for RS Berkane

The Cape Verde international has signed a one-season contract with an option for a further year.

Ryan Mendes is making a fresh start in Morocco. Having been a free agent since leaving Igdir FK in the Turkish second division this summer, the captain of Cape Verde’s Blue Sharks has chosen the Moroccan league to continue his career.

The 36-year-old forward has joined RS Berkane in the Botola Pro. The Cape Verdean international has signed a one-season contract with the option of an automatic one-season extension should the club meet the targets set for the national league and the CAF Champions League.

By signing Ryan Mendes, RS Berkane has brought in an experienced player. The 36-year-old Cape Verdean, who enjoyed a fine run with the Blue Sharks during the 2026 World Cup, brings a wealth of experience to the table. He has played for several clubs in Europe and the Gulf.

By joining RS Berkane, Ryan Mendes is reunited with his former national team manager, Bubista, who was recently appointed head coach of the Moroccan club.
