The transfer saga is finally over — Rodri is swapping Manchester for Barcelona.

Details: Manchester City have officially confirmed that Rodri has left the English club to join Barcelona, subject to international clearance. The move brings an end to the Spanish midfielder's hugely successful seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, which began after his arrival from Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2019.

Rodri departs Manchester City as one of the most decorated and influential players of the club's modern era. The 30-year-old made 298 appearances in all competitions, scored 28 goals and helped the Citizens collect 14 major trophies.

His honours with City include four Premier League titles, three League Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. One of the defining moments of his spell in England came in Istanbul in 2023, when his goal against Inter secured City's first Champions League trophy and completed the historic treble.

It is worth noting that Rodri also became the first Manchester City player to win the Ballon d'Or, receiving the award in 2024. He leaves the Etihad after seven seasons and now begins a new chapter of his career with Barcelona.
