Just ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 ties against Inter, Feyenoord has confirmed a new head coach.

Details: As previously reported, former Heerenveen boss Robin van Persie has been appointed as Feyenoord’s new manager. He will be joined by René Hake, who previously worked as Erik ten Hag’s assistant at Manchester United. Van Persie has signed a contract with Feyenoord until the summer of 2027 and will begin his duties tomorrow.

Reminder: The 41-year-old started his coaching career in Rotterdam, initially working as a forwards coach under Arne Slot before moving to Feyenoord’s youth teams in the summer of 2023.

In the summer of 2024, he took on his first head coaching role at Heerenveen. Under his leadership, the Frisian club played 26 matches, recording nine wins, six draws, and 11 defeats.
