Next season, the champions of La Liga and the Champions League will undoubtedly have a new captain.

Today, Real Madrid officially announced that club legend and team captain Nacho Fernández is leaving "Los Blancos" as a free agent.

The new captain of the Madrid powerhouse will be the illustrious Luka Modrić, who served as vice-captain last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nacho is set to join Saudi club Al-Qadsiah, a newcomer to the Pro League.

Nacho Fernández, a Real Madrid academy graduate, has never played for any other club. The 34-year-old defender has made a total of 364 appearances for Real and won 26 trophies.

Due to a series of injuries last season, Nacho became a key defender for Real and featured in 45 matches.
