Central midfielder João Neves, who has excelled at Benfica, has indeed made a significant step up.
Today, PSG officially announced the transfer of the young Portuguese player. The French champions have paid €70 million for João Neves. However, according to some French media, PSG will initially pay €60 million, with an additional €10 million in bonuses.
It is expected that after Neves' transfer, PSG will sell central midfielder Manuel Ugarte to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, PSG's central midfielder Renato Sanches, for whom Benfica is a home club, will move to Benfica. Sanches had an unsuccessful loan spell at Roma last season.
The 19-year-old Neves is a product of Benfica's academy. Despite his young age, he has already played 75 matches for his hometown club, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists.
