Portuguese giants Porto have completed the permanent signing of 26-year-old Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, who had previously played for the club on loan from London side Arsenal.
Details: The Dragons’ management were impressed with the centre-back’s performances and decided to trigger the buyout clause. The deal is worth €17 million in guaranteed payments, with an additional €5 million possible in various performance-related bonuses.
The London club have also secured a future financial benefit, as the agreement includes a clause entitling them to €2 million from any future resale of the player.
Kiwior himself has signed a long-term contract with the Portuguese powerhouse, running until June 30, 2030. To protect their new asset from the interest of top clubs, Porto have inserted a hefty €70 million release clause in the Pole’s contract.
It’s worth noting that this season, the Polish defender made 38 appearances for the Portuguese side, registering two assists and helping his team clinch the Portuguese league title.
Reminder: The winner of the Premier League Golden Glove for the 2025/26 season has been announced.
