Official: Pellegrino Matarazzo appointed head coach of Real Sociedad

Pellegrino Matarazzo has taken the reins at Real Sociedad.
Details: Real Sociedad has officially announced that the club has reached an agreement with Pellegrino Matarazzo, who will become the new head coach of the first team until the end of the 2026/27 season.
It is reported that the official presentation of the new manager will take place on Monday at 16:00 at the "Anoeta" stadium.
Pellegrino Matarazzo, born in 1977 in New Jersey, began his coaching career with the youth teams of Nuremberg. In 2017, he moved to Hoffenheim, where he worked as assistant coach to Julian Nagelsmann, helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Two years later, Matarazzo took charge of a team for the first time as head coach, taking over at Stuttgart and immediately securing promotion to the Bundesliga. After a successful season with Stuttgart, he returned to Hoffenheim, where he led the team for nearly two seasons, earning a place in the Europa League. Now, Matarazzo is set to begin his tenure at Real Sociedad.
It is worth noting that, at the moment, Real Sociedad is perilously close to the relegation zone, with seventeen points and sitting in sixteenth place.
Reminder: The legendary Raul could have taken charge of Real Sociedad, but the club opted for Matarazzo.
