OFFICIAL. Napoli have announced the transfer of the Real Madrid defender

Napoli, after a disappointing last season, continues its impressive transfer campaign this summer.

Today, the Neapolitan club officially announced the signing of central defender Rafa Marín from Real Madrid. The transfer fee amounted to 12 million euros, and the player has signed a contract until the summer of 2029.

Previously, Fabrizio Romano reported that Real Madrid would have a buy-back option for Marín in the summer of 2026.

The 22-year-old Marín is a product of Real Madrid's academy but played exclusively for Castilla in his home club. Last season, he successfully spent on loan at Alavés.

In the recently concluded season, Marín made 35 appearances for Alavés across all competitions.

On Friday, Torino and Italy national team central defender Alessandro Buongiorno will also undergo a medical examination ahead of his transfer to Napoli.
