Extremely disappointing news has come out of London for Chelsea and Ukraine national team fans.

Details: Chelsea has officially confirmed that winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been temporarily suspended from football due to a positive doping test.

The player himself commented on the situation:

Quote:

“I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance”.

“This has come as a complete shock as I have NEVER knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened”.

“I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon”.

“I cannot say any more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can”.

The specific banned substance has not yet been officially disclosed. The maximum suspension for doping violations is 4 years.

This season, Mudryk has registered 3 goals and 5 assists in 15 matches across all competitions.

In January 2023, Chelsea paid Shakhtar €70 million for Mudryk.

Reminder: Yesterday, Transfermarkt updated Premier League player valuations, with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer seeing the biggest rise—his value increased by €40 million.
