Official: Monnapule Saleng leaves Orlando Pirates and returns to his boyhood club! But only for one season

Saleng is determined to prove he can still make an impact.

Details: Today it was announced that 27-year-old Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana winger Monnapule Saleng is joining Orbit College, a club that recently secured promotion to the Betway Championship.

Reports indicate that the move is a season-long loan deal, after which Saleng's future will be reassessed by all parties once his contract expires.

The 27-year-old has not featured for the Buccaneers since December 2024, when they faced Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League group stage.

It is understood that a misunderstanding led to a conflict between Saleng and the Pirates, resulting in his exclusion from the squad and ultimately leaving him on the fringes at the club.

Saleng boasts a record of 70 appearances, 25 goals, and 17 assists, having helped the team secure three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup titles.

He previously played for Orbit back in 2019, the very club where his professional journey began.
