Official: Manchester United defender receives first France call-up

According to the French national team's official announcement, Konaté has been diagnosed with a mild sprain of his right knee. The 27-year-old centre-back has been released from international duty and will return to Real Madrid, where the club's medical staff will assess his condition.
His withdrawal has opened the door for Yoro, who has previously represented France at youth level but has never received a call-up to the senior national team. The Manchester United defender will now join the squad for the upcoming international matches.
France will begin their UEFA Nations League campaign against Türkiye on September 25 before facing Belgium on September 28. Yoro could make his senior international debut during this international break, although his inclusion in the squad does not guarantee that he will feature in either match.
It is worth noting that Yoro joined Manchester United from Lille in July 2024. The French defender is currently 20 years old and wears the number 15 shirt for the English club.
