Official: Manchester City leader to leave the club
Manchester City has officially announced the end of its 10-year partnership with John Stones.
Details: The 31-year-old defender’s contract expires on June 30, and both parties have agreed not to extend the deal. Stones, who joined the Citizens from Everton in 2016, leaves the club as a true legend, having made 293 appearances, scored 19 goals, and provided 9 assists.
Over his decade in Manchester, the English defender became an integral part of the club’s “golden era” under Pep Guardiola. Stones boasts an impressive haul of 19 trophies, including six Premier League titles, a Champions League triumph, two FA Cups, five League Cups, as well as three Community Shields, a Club World Cup victory, and a UEFA Super Cup win.
Reminder: The Premier League decided not to reschedule Manchester City’s match. Here’s why.
