Official: Liam Delap joins Chelsea

Chelsea has decided to strengthen its attacking line—and has done so with real intent. Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap will continue his career at the London club.
Details: The transfer of the English forward was officially announced on Chelsea’s club channels. Insider David Ornstein reported that the Blues paid £30 million for Delap, with £20 million going to Ipswich up front. The Tractor Boys will also receive a percentage from any future sale. The contract is set to run until 2031.
Quote: “I understand the stature of this club and see the direction it’s heading with these players and the head coach. This will be an incredible place for my development. I hope to achieve great things here and help the club win more trophies,” Delap said.
Reminder: Chelsea failed to reach an agreement with Jadon Sancho and will not be signing him from Manchester United—the winger will return to the English club.
