OFFICIAL. Juventus have loaned a French defender from Milan
After the collapse of Jean-Clair Todibo's transfer, Juventus sought a new option to strengthen their central defense and found it within their direct competitors in the race for the Serie A title.
Today, the Turin club officially announced the signing of central defender Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan on a loan deal.
Juventus will pay €3 million for the loan, with an option to buy for an additional €14 million.
Kalulu joined Milan in the summer of 2020 from Lyon for €1.3 million. However, the 24-year-old French defender only managed to make nine Serie A appearances last season due to multiple injuries.
Before his time at Milan, Kalulu exclusively played for the youth team of his hometown club, Lyon.
In the first round of Serie A, Juventus secured a 3-0 home victory against newcomers Como, while Milan dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Torino.
