OFFICIAL. Juventus has extended the contract of their American midfielder
Juventus has indeed extended their collaboration with midfielder Weston McKennie, as announced on the club’s official website.
The new contract is set to run until June 30, 2026. According to insider Niccolò Schira, the 25-year-old American central midfielder will earn €2.8 million annually.
It’s worth recalling that on August 29, 2020, it was announced that McKennie had joined Juventus on a one-year loan with an option to buy, becoming the first American player in the club's history.
On March 3, 2021, the team exercised their purchase option and signed McKennie to a four-year contract for €18.5 million plus €6.5 million in potential bonuses.
Recall that the American, along with Wojciech Szczęsny and Federico Chiesa, was on the list of players to whom Motta pointed to the door.
But soon McKennie had a conversation with his manager and the latter returned him to the training process, saying that he now considers him part of the team.
