Official: John Textor steps down from all positions as Lyon appoints new president

John Textor has resigned from all executive roles at the French club.
Details: Today, Lyon officially announced the appointment of its new club president—Michele Kang.
Reports indicate that John Textor no longer has any involvement with the club's structure and is now seriously considering purchasing England's Sheffield.
The position of CEO is now held by Michael Gerlinger, who was promoted after serving as sporting director.
Michele Kang has been a member of Lyon's board of directors since 2023; she is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist.
"We are entering a critical period for OL, and I would like to thank John for his commitment and vision in bringing the club into the Eagle Football family. I look forward to working closely with Michael, the OL management team, and the Board of Directors to support the club during and after the DNCG proceedings," Michele commented on her appointment.
The outgoing owner also shared his thoughts:
"I am extremely proud of our sporting achievements—the team managed to rebuild the squad and return to European competitions over the past two years after a long absence. I am grateful to everyone at Lyon for their dedication during this exceptionally challenging period. Michele is the perfect choice to lead Lyon into the next chapter, and I have full confidence in her and in the team, which will become even stronger under her leadership," John Textor stated.
