Barcelona president Joan Laporta has decided to step down from his position, a move that follows clear logic, as it is required ahead of the upcoming elections.
Details: The club officially announced that part of the board of directors is resigning in order to run for re-election.
Quote: “In accordance with Article 42.f of the FC Barcelona Statutes, president Joan Laporta has stepped down in order to be eligible to run in the elections to the Board of Directors, which will take place on March 15. This resignation was formalised at a regular meeting of the Board of Directors held this Monday, during which the official election announcement was published,” the statement said.
Reminder: Hansi Flick is seriously considering resigning if, following the vote, the club is led by someone other than Joan Laporta.
