Official: Joan García joins Barcelona

The transfer saga surrounding the Spanish goalkeeper and the Blaugrana has officially come to an end.

Details: Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García has officially become a Barcelona player following a lengthy negotiation process between the two clubs.

Barcelona's official page published the news, welcoming García as the team's newest signing. The 24-year-old shot-stopper has inked a six-year contract. The transfer fee and his salary remain undisclosed for now and will be announced at a later date.

Last season, Joan featured in 38 matches for Espanyol, keeping eight clean sheets.

According to Transfermarkt, the goalkeeper's market value is estimated at 25 million euros.
