Official: Former Barcelona star joins French side Lens
Lens have pulled off another notable move in the final stretch of the transfer market.
Details: Lens have officially announced the signing of French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo. The 26-year-old defender arrives from West Ham United on loan, returning to Ligue 1 after his previous spell in French football.
According to reports in France, the agreement does not include an option to buy. Todibo will wear the No. 20 shirt at his new club. The French international had also been linked with Marseille, but that move ultimately failed to materialise.
The move gives Lens another experienced option in central defence ahead of a demanding campaign. Todibo could make his debut for his new side as early as the upcoming Ligue 1 match against Lorient on September 5.
The defender is well known to French supporters, having previously established himself in Ligue 1 with Nice before moving to England. Earlier in his career, he was also on the books of Barcelona, where he spent two seasons with the first team.
It is worth noting that Todibo made six official appearances for Barcelona's first team between 2019 and 2021. He also won the Spanish league title with the Catalan club.
