Official! Fiorentina land Sporting star in €25m deadline-day deal
Fiorentina have pulled off another major move in the final hours of the transfer window.
Details: The Italian club have officially announced the signing of Portuguese attacker Pedro Gonçalves from Sporting CP. The 28-year-old moves to Florence on an initial loan and begins a new chapter in Serie A after six seasons with the Lisbon giants.
The financial structure of the agreement makes the deal particularly interesting. Fiorentina will pay €2.5 million for the loan, while the contract includes a €22.5 million option to purchase Gonçalves permanently.
That clause could become mandatory if certain objectives included in the agreement are achieved. If the permanent transfer is triggered, the overall package would therefore reach €25 million.
Gonçalves arrives in Italy after establishing himself as one of Sporting's most productive attacking players. He is capable of operating in several advanced positions and gives Fiorentina another experienced option in the final third.
It is worth noting that Gonçalves recorded 13 goals and eight assists in 28 Liga Portugal appearances for Sporting during the 2025/26 season. Transfermarkt currently estimates the Portuguese international's market value at €25 million.
