Official! Everton snatches experienced Dane from Arsenal
Christian Nørgaard will finally get regular playing time in the Premier League.
Details: Everton have officially announced the signing of Denmark international midfielder Christian Nørgaard from Arsenal. The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but according to The Athletic, the deal is worth around £7 million. The 32-year-old midfielder becomes the Toffees' fourth signing of this transfer window.
The Dane's move to London last year didn't work out: Arsenal signed him from Brentford for £10 million, but under Mikel Arteta, Nørgaard made just seven Premier League appearances, spending only 106 minutes on the pitch during their title-winning campaign. By selling him to Everton for £7 million, the Gunners have recorded a £3 million loss in just a year of owning the player.
Before joining Arsenal, Nørgaard was a true Brentford legend: he wore the captain's armband and made 196 appearances for the Bees over seven years at the club.
